Being in the home loan industry, you are in the middle of some tough competition. In order to profit or stay a float in the market you need to be visible and heard. People need to be able to easily distinguish you amongst your competitors. The next time a client makes a decision to apply for a mortgage loan you want to be on their top list of mortgage providers.

What we’re going to go over in this article is postcard marketing which has helped me exceed my marketing goals by 25%.

Advantages of Postcard Advertising

One word CHEAP!! Postcards don’t cost much.20-.50 cents depending on where you shop. You marketing budget won’t cost more than $10.00 for each contact you list. This includes shipping cost as well as printing!

Postcards as small and cheap (as stated before) there isn’t much room for words so this only leaves room for you to get your point across quickly and effectively. Postcards don’t need to be placed in envelopes; they contain graphics (most of them do) with great sales copy printed on them in easy to read fonts. Postcards come across short and sweet as well as memorable because again they get straight to the point…

Simple to track I mean keeping track of your post card campaign is easy because the message is simple and targeted to a specific audience. If you don’t see good results you can always send a follow-up (or a few) to the same target group of individuals. If you aren’t getting the results you expected then you have obviously done your market research in correctly and need to get that down before continuing with this marketing campaign or any other marketing campaign for that matter…

Postcards are very versatile; they can notify people on special promotions, seminars and or special events coming up. They are also serve as tickets or coupons for discounts (great method really gets clients in the door).

Small Tips That Will Improve Your Adverting Campaign

Start of with a good targeted list. This will in turn conducting the proper research, make sure that what you’re offering is something that will be of good use to the people you are prospecting. For an example: I’ve sent out postcards advertising music production tutorials using software applications. This market is targeted because I use to work at guitar center so every time someone purchased a piece of software I added them to my list BAM! That’s a great targeted list and I can send them updates on current and future products relating to anything software related!

Create a few trial campaigns just to see which one gets better conversions. This will require spending more on postcards and shipping but it is worth it in the end especially if you hit a nice little goldmine (which happens more often than not). I’m going to use my example of the software again. I had 3 different campaigns going on they were all within the software market but they were even more laser target. See, out of all the software applications that were being sold I noticed most of them were Reason and Pro tools. So what I did was set up a campaign for both (reason and pro tools) and the 3rd was just a random test of an application that I thought would do well. This test gave me results that allowed me to allocate my advertising budget and time into the most profitable campaign. Thus allowing me to work smarter as well as maximize my profits with a very small budget.

Be sure to send your targeted group pitches, follow-ups and plenty of promotional (limited time) offers. You always want to keep your clients coming back for your service so when creating promotions THINK OF YOUR CLIENTS WHAT WOULD BENEFIT THEM!? Do whatever it takes to win then over and bring them back (even if you have to dig into your profits a little).

Stay alert. An aspect in postcard advertising is to be focused. You need to be specific and clear about what you’re offering. Do you want the client to call you asking about the best mortgage rates? Where they can get the best mortgage deals? A list of free mortgage leads? What is it?? Can you help them look for a property with the best price? Do you know how and or where to find lenders who offer loans for those with less than average credit?

Keep your clients in mind, find out what it is they need and create the best offer possible for them and place that on your postcards and start marketing!
